Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born August 9, 1976, in Beaumont Puy of Domme. Her parents, who are a dental doctor and a school teacher helped and encouraged her early love for drama and theater. The initial goal of her to be a monkey expert was eclipsed by her wish to learn about drama and theater. Her fame grew as a child actor quickly and achieved great success. Prior to beginning the acting profession, she took part in Jeunes Premiers an French talent search TV program which was a part of Canal+ in 1998. The program also awarded her the title of The award for the Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Tautou studied at Institut Catholique de Paris, went to church as a young girl and was brought up Catholic. However she has now distanced herself with the Catholic tradition. Along with her acting career she started a modeling career. Also, she is the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and often called The Chanel Muse. Her photography is also a hobby and she has recently displayed her work in the Arles festival with the name Superficial. Photography of her is primarily focused on celebrity and fame, and turns the camera on the media who sat on her shoulders after her meteoric rise to fame in the film Amelie and self-portraits. Audrey Tautou became a star and was recognized internationally for her debut role as Amelie Poulain in Le Fabuleux Destination d'Amelie. Amelie made international waves on the screen and won awards around the world. It remains the highest grossing French language film to date in the US. Following this success Tautou starred in numerous film productions ranging that ranged from British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's film Un long Sunday de fiancailles and moving into Hollywood through Ron Howard's direction of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code together with Tom Hanks.
