As I was a mom with one child on me and others in the cradle, I was working 12 hour shifts grinding floors and cutting off wallpaper. Ha! We were getting close to being done, yet we were a long way off. It would take an enormous amount of work and an enthusiasm of shopping. To keep in the realm of budgets, I took to taking my kids to estate sales in search of diamonds. We had a weekly schedule which consisted of spending the week from Thursday through Saturday walking around sale houses and garages, shopping for new and used things. The rest of the week working on painting and sanding the driveway. The furniture was like this... and that's where I found my love for restoring. Even after our house was fully furnished, I could not stop! I had an area at the market to sell things. Eventually, my collection grew to the point that the space I had available was not enough. Then I began hosting open houses in my home which saw over 1 000 guests could visit in the span of a weekend. They could buy anything they saw on the first floor. Growing Days is the result from this. My business was booming and my family was also expanding. As a mom of a child, I found the right equilibrium to start my own company and being a decent mother. Growing Days fit perfectly. My precious Nora was born in 2013, our fourth child. This was an excellent direction for my company, however, I needed a vacation. I made the decision to take some time off from my vintage furniture and remain at home with the children. In the beginning, this was what I wanted. However, after just a couple of minutes, my phone began ringing. I was getting messages from individuals asking for assistance with home improvements as well as interior design. They were mostly people that came to my residence to buy furniture. In the following time I began to take on customers according to my schedule. Before long I had numerous accounts as well as a home remodeling business. If you had told me that this business of mine could become the premise of a tv show that airs on the DIY Network I probably would have been astonished. In the present, as I reflect on the situation I am laughing.
